Sushi Tei at Tropicana City Mall

I’m sure when it comes to Japanese food in shopping malls, most of you would have locked down names like Sushi Zanmai or Sakae Sushi in your minds. Today, I’ll be introducing to you Sushi Tei at Tropicana City Mall.

Sushi Tei is located at the ground floor of Tropicana City Mall and it is at the side where Poh Kong and Kenny Rogers is. It is almost impossible for you to not see Sushi Tei as their entrance is somehow attracts attention. This place can get pretty packed during peak hours.

What’s Sushi Tei without sushi? I had a baked salmon maki which has a price tag of RM4.80 per plate. I’ve been here for a few times already and the salmon is fresh on every of my visit here. This probably shows that they only order fresh stocks to their restaurant. The baked salmon maki was good and its worth ordering.

Next is my all-time favourite in Sushi Zanmai which is a salmon mentai. Again the salmon is fresh but then it was slightly burnt though which wasn’t the case during my previous visit here. Perhaps they overdid it on my recent visit otherwise this is also a delicious sushi to have. A plate of salmon mentai costs RM6.00.

I am also quite a fan of their rice and their chicken katsu don is one my favourite. The chicken is fried to perfection and the egg goes well with the rice and chicken, a real delight to eat. This goes for a price of RM12.80.

Last but not least, here’s their ebi don. Ebi don is deep fried prawn topped with egg on rice so this is similar to the chicken katsu don except this is replaced with prawn instead of chicken. Another option if you don’t want to have chicken. Ebi don is just a ringgit more expensive than the chicken katsu don at RM13.80.

Verdict, Sushi Tei adds another option to the list of places to have a Japanese cuisine. In my opinion, Sushi Tei has set the standard of a good Japanese restaurant while Sushi Zanmai had been degrading as days goes by. Price wise isn’t too expensive and it is somewhat similar with Sushi Zanmai and Sakae Sushi. I would highly recommend Sushi Tei to anyone looking for good Japanese food. :D

Pho Hoa Noodle Soup

If you are a health conscious person and you are out of idea not knowing what to eat, this restaurant might be able to enlighten you as it is claimed to be a health conscious choice by them. Also, this restaurant will probably be liked by those who are a Vietnamese food lover.

Pho Hoa Noodle Soup Restaurant has been in Malaysia for quite some time and I believe their first branch was opened in The Curve behind Baskin Robins but do correct me if I provided a wrong information. Another branch was opened not long ago in a new shopping mall here in Petaling Jaya called the Tropicana City Mall.

This restaurant is famous for their beef noodle and if you are going to order a large bowl of beef noodles, you’d better be hungry or else you’ll be having a difficult time trying to finish it off. There are a lot of variety to choose from even if it is just a bowl of beef noodle. You can choose from different types of meat to put in so basically I’ll call it mix and match.

The taste of it is good but it will only get better if you have a lot of types of meat in your bowl. The price ranges about RM10.00 to RM15.00 per bowl. To me, the price might look a bit pricey but it is definitely worth the money especially if you are seriously in hunger as the portion is really big.

I usually come here only for their beef noodle but they do offer rice and some Vietnamese starters. To sum it all up, this is one restaurant that I’d definitely recommend to anyone who fits in the criteria of looking for a healthy and good food that isn’t too expensive at the same time. :D

The Magic Wok

If you are looking for a good Chinese cuisine with an affordable price tag, I have a place that I’ll be able to recommend to you if you have not tried it before. This restaurant is located in Damansara Jaya, Petaling Jaya.

The Magic Wok Restaurant is popular among the residents in Damansara Jaya and also those who are living around Petaling Jaya. It is no doubt that the food taste good here and it is affordable as well which is what most people are looking for these days especially when the economy isn’t in a good shape. Without further-ado, I’ll let the pictures do the talking. :)

Tofu with Sliced Abalone

Their Tofu with Sliced Abalone was recommended by the waitress and usually can be seen in most of the tables in this restaurant. For only RM12.00, this dish is considered affordable with the taste being decent.

Honey Ginger Chicken

This dish was another delicious one based on my point of view. For RM15.00, this dish isn’t too expensive especially when it is meat and most air-conditioned restaurants would be charging higher than this. This one is another recommended dish.

Sauteed Vegetarian Combination

If you’re bored of just green vegetables, you might want to try this Sauteed Vegetarian Combination as it is a mixture of broccoli, celery, lotus root and many more. The price tag for this dish is at RM12.00.

Aromatic Butter Fish Fillet

Want something that will pamper your taste buds ? The Aromatic Butter Fish Fillet should be liked by most people especially the butter which boosts the taste of it. This dish is priced at RM15.00.

The four dishes will total up to a sum of RM54.00 and adding in drinks and rice would most probably be around RM60.00 which is affordable and I would say most people will agree on this as well. Moreover, the food tastes good and so the it justifies the price tag of the dishes. For me, I will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
