I attended the T. Music Festival held in the Bukit Jalil National Stadium last night all thanks to a pair of sponsored tickets from Nuffnang. I was at the area for RM168 tickets.

A parking fee of RM2 was charged and seriously in just one night, they could probably have earned about RM1000. However, the car park wasn’t full but considering that the only about half the stadium was used for this concert, there were a lot of cars. Luckily dearest reminded me that cameras can’t be brought in as I brought my dSLR out and went home to put it back later on. The entry point was where they will be checking bags for cameras. I must say that they failed big time as many managed to sneak in their compact digital cameras.

At the time of sitting, this artist was performing. Who is he? I’m not too familiar with Chinese artists so anyone care to enlighten me on this?

Then Manhand took the stage putting on a great show. I was impressed with their performance and I’m kinda stuck to their songs currently. Even the graphics they used on the screens were eye-catching.

About an hour later, as Chin, one of the artist from Thailand was performing, a ‘boom’ sound was heard and the screens went off. At first I thought it was part of the performance but it wasn’t as fire can be seen near a tent where all the cables were. It sparked like fireworks and the situation was quite chaotic as people near it were running away. Luckily the fire wasn’t really big that a fire extinguisher managed to put the fire off.

The stage area completely blackout and they had to come up with a strategy to control the crowd as well as keeping them in the stadium. Many people were seen to be leaving when the blackout happened. Some artists came out to sing through a loudspeaker hoping to keep the crowd entertained until the audio and lighting system recovers. Names like David Tao and Justin Lo came out to sing a song or two.

A team was trying to figure out the problem and trying to recover the power. From lights to audio, the system was recovered in approximately 30 minutes. Well, some people definitely left probably thinking that the blackout will never be recovered or because it is already getting late. I personally did not stay until the concert ended. It was getting late and apparently the concert went on until near 1.30am. Overall, there were great performances and some dull ones too.

So how was Wesak Day for you if you are a Buddhist ? Wesak Day or also known as Vesak is to commemorate events of significance to Buddhists of all traditions which are the birth, enlightenment and the passing away of the Buddha. I woke up quite early to head down the nearest temple with my dad which is the Thai Buddhist Wat Chetawan Temple at Jalan Gasing.

The crowd at this temple is considered a lot especially when it was only about 7.30am. Well, it is still one of the biggest if not the biggest temple around Petaling Jaya. Moreover, parking here is quite convenient. The weather was good too yesterday morning.

The joss sticks had to be removed quite frequently because there were so many of it until there isn’t any space left for others to put their joss sticks there. It was so smoky that it irritates the eyes, well after all it is just once a year.

The main hall where the Buddha is was packed too especially the blessing area. Even when there are notices outside the hall stating that joss sticks aren’t allowed to be brought into the hall, still there were people bringing joss sticks in. There was a man kept on announcing not to bring in but still people couldn’t bother to listen to him. I wonder if they do not understand what he was saying or just simply inconsiderate ?

So donations have been improved in such a way that you could donate some money to exchange for coins and put it in the box provided as shown in the above photo.

In this Wat Chetawan Temple, there is this area where you get to exchange for coins and then going one round ringing the bells. Well it is always nice to ring the bell, the sound of the bell kick starts a beautiful morning.

This lady pointed out to ring the bell and so should everybody who came to this temple. I happened to snapped this and didn’t realized that it looks as though she was pointing at the bell.
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Wesak Day although it is already over. I hope you had a great time visiting temples yesterday to celebrate Vesak. May God bless you always.

Well I am quite a big fan of Marié Digby after I first listened to her acoustic cover version of Rihanna’s “Umbrella”. She is just so talented and gifted that she deserves every bit of success she’s having at the moment. Now GAP presents Marié Digby live in Kuala Lumpur, a really good opportunity to catch her live for the fans here in Malaysia.

Don’t know who Marié Digby is ? Marié Digby is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and pianist. She is best known for her acoustic cover version of Rihanna’s number one hit “Umbrella” which was originally posted on YouTube and it was then spread across the Internet. Well I think many have heard of her after her first official single “Say It Again” was aired on radio stations. Her debut album titled Unfold was released on April 8, 2008. Never listened to her songs before ? If you would like to listen to some of her songs then you may listen to it at her official YouTube channel.
Now as stated in the poster she will be in One Utama on the 14th of May 2008 which is a Wednesday at 8pm and the admission is free. The event will be held at the new wing, ground floor, near the GAP outlet. Also, you can get a copy of her album “Unfold” on that day which will be sold there and you stand a chance to get that album autographed by Marié Digby herself. Since it is free, there will be no excuse like “the ticket is too expensive”. This event is brought to you by GAP.
