Pho Hoa Noodle Soup

If you are a health conscious person and you are out of idea not knowing what to eat, this restaurant might be able to enlighten you as it is claimed to be a health conscious choice by them. Also, this restaurant will probably be liked by those who are a Vietnamese food lover.

Pho Hoa Noodle Soup Restaurant has been in Malaysia for quite some time and I believe their first branch was opened in The Curve behind Baskin Robins but do correct me if I provided a wrong information. Another branch was opened not long ago in a new shopping mall here in Petaling Jaya called the Tropicana City Mall.

This restaurant is famous for their beef noodle and if you are going to order a large bowl of beef noodles, you’d better be hungry or else you’ll be having a difficult time trying to finish it off. There are a lot of variety to choose from even if it is just a bowl of beef noodle. You can choose from different types of meat to put in so basically I’ll call it mix and match.

The taste of it is good but it will only get better if you have a lot of types of meat in your bowl. The price ranges about RM10.00 to RM15.00 per bowl. To me, the price might look a bit pricey but it is definitely worth the money especially if you are seriously in hunger as the portion is really big.

I usually come here only for their beef noodle but they do offer rice and some Vietnamese starters. To sum it all up, this is one restaurant that I’d definitely recommend to anyone who fits in the criteria of looking for a healthy and good food that isn’t too expensive at the same time. :D

New York City Sights

Things to do in New York? If any of you are looking for a site that provides a good information on new york city tours as well as sightseeing, you’ve found the right place as I have a site to recommend in which I think you’ll be able to find information over at this site as well as booking the tickets for the hop-on and hop-off bus.

The site I’m referring to is citysightsny.com where you’ll be able to obtain many information on the get arounds in the city. Most of the general things to do in New York can be found on the links located just below the header. It is really neat as everything is organized in such a tidy manner that it makes information seeking much easier. Even the Points of Interest section is divided into three sections which are Downtown, Uptown and Brooklyn while one of the interesting look-out point is the Top of the Rock Observation Deck. For students, there’s a section on Educational Student Trips which consists of different locations and this should really be useful for any educational institution to plan a school trip as part of an activity.

To conclude, this website is one of the good ones I’ve seen loaded with lots of information for viewers and not only information is the important factor here, the online booking does come in handy for on-the-spot booking without even the need to leave your house. :D

Fong Keow Bak Kut Teh

I know that some or should I say most of you are bak kut teh lovers especially Chinese who loves herbal soup. Apparently, Klang is believed to have the best and original bak kut teh in the Klang Valley. I googled around to find out some of the popular restaurants that serves bak kut teh in Klang and then it came a decision for me to try out Restaurant Fong Keow (Pottery) Bak Kut Teh.

Finding your way here can be a little tricky especially if you have not been to Klang before. I quoted this short guide on getting here from this website to help most of you. If you are coming from Kuala Lumpur or Petaling Jaya, go to the Federal Highway and use the Batu Tiga and Taman Rashna toll plazas. Once you have passed by Taman Rashna toll, keep to the left and follow the signage to Jalan Batu Tiga Lama. Drive along this road and turn right at the traffic light. Go straight along the road and you will pass a small bridge and turn right immediately. You will see a school to your left along this road. Turn right at the junction and you will see the Fong Keow restaurant. The other two restaurants are located just behind it.

Basically the appearance of it when the claypot arrives on your table is somehow good in a sense that the claypot is big and it looks like there’s a lot of ingredients in it. Digging it up and you’ll find that there isn’t much of the ingredients there and the claypot above is after adding stuffs like ‘fu chuk’ and mushrooms. The price of it isn’t too expensive in which for one person it will cost RM10.00. Of course if you plan to add additional ingredients in it then it will cost you probably a couple of ringgits more.

Chinese tea is like a tradition to people who take bak kut teh. It is believed that the tea will help to dilute the fats consumed from the pork. You will have to self-service on this by putting the amount of tea leaves and then adding hot water into the mini pot from kettles stationed nearby your table. Purchasing a box of tea leaves should cost you about RM5.00.

The verdict, I believe that this restaurant is somehow overrated and the soup isn’t that fantastic like what most people say. There should be more restaurants out there in Klang that serves a better bak kut teh with a really strong herbal soup. Until then, I’ll keep all of you updated with the best bak kut teh in Klang when I have the chance to go there again. :D
