Dine at Backofen
If you’re looking for a change because you are just bored of Asian food, perhaps you should try Backofen which serves their food in Austrian style. Although the food may not look that much different of a Western delight, it is still good. 
Backofen is located in Desa Sri Hartamas. For those regulars who always hang around this area would be able to locate this restaurant quickly but for those who aren’t regulars, it might take quite some time unless you have a good sense of direction, however with the address of the lot then it shouldn’t be much of a problem.
Spaghetti Carbonara
This Spaghetti Carbonara is served with turkey ham and obviously in white sauce. Simple it may look but it is good and the white sauce is really rich so you might get bloated if you aren’t a big eater. The Spaghetti Carbonara here is priced at RM11.00.
Chicken Chop
Their Chicken Chop or rather known as “Huhner Schnitzel” uses a skinless boneless chicken fried in breadcrumbs and served with potato salad. Chicken chop might be simple but it is much better than any ordinary chicken chop plus the breadcrumbs do add a little boost in it. This Chicken Chop is priced at RM13.00.
Grilled Chicken
Chicken lover but do not want it dry like the previous Chicken Chop ? Then this Grilled Chicken might be for you since it is served over mushroom sauce and crumbed potatoes. The mushroom sauce tastes good and is a good pairing with the boneless grilled chicken, what more can I ask for ? The Grilled Chicken here is priced at RM13.00.
When the food is good, it is no surprise that there will be no leftovers on the plate (well maybe a little). I find this restaurant to be quite a good place to dine especially if you want a quiet atmosphere. Price wise is not too bad ranging from around RM10.00 to RM15.00, there isn’t many restaurants around this area that have this kind of price tag. Moreover the food is good so the price shouldn’t be considered expensive for a satisfying meal.

yer the austrians are famous with their schnitzels =D do they have austrian sausages with sour cabbage too? and apple strudels! (drooling already hehhee)

If I remembered correctly I did see Austrian Sausages in their menu but not sure if it is with sour cabbage. Apple Strudels available too.

I know there is a gathering for Canadian graduate at Backofen on May 30 from 7 to 10 pm. I like to attend but I have one problem which you may able to solve. When I am in Kl my residence is at Taman Sri Endah at Sri Petaling. Very close to the Endah Perade shopping complex. How can I get there if I travel by LRT or drive. Drive would be hard because I am just new in Malaysia.It has just been three weeks of adventure traveling all over Malaysia talking to managers and sale clerk. At present I am involving with a department store chain.

I’m sorry Eric Lee but I’m not good in giving directions, moreover Desa Sri Hartamas area is actually quite confusing if you’re not a frequent visitor there. There’s no way to travel there by LRT so your best bet is taking a cab.

Their boiled sausage with sour cabbage is really good. In fact their set lunch is really value for money. For RM13nett, you get a delicious soup of the day, main course (it changes every 2 weeks or so) and a coffee/tea. I especially like their grilled lamb and grilled chicken.

True that, I see people coming here for affordable and good food. I think the majority would be those working ones during lunch break hours.
